7.6.7.6.D
Christ the King was born one day
In the town of David
Prophet’s hope in shadow-grey
There in Him made vivid
Come, O Christ, anointed one
Promised through the ages
Shine in darkness like the sun
Shine though darkness rages
Christ the King was born to save
from the curse of Adam
Conquer death and crush the grave
Giving slaves their freedom
Come, O Christ, and cleanse within
Born to make us holy
Make us new and free from sin
Fit us for your glory.
Christ the king was born to us:
Abram’s promised blessing.
Son of God Most Glorious
Now for war is dressing!
Come O Christ, the serpent slay
Conq’ring king of heaven.
Truly did the angels say:
”Peace on Earth is given!”
