8.8.8.8
We praise the great Immanuel’s name
The Son of God who humbly came.
Who bowed before His Father’s will
And went to die, on Calvary’s hill
The voice which light and dark obeyed
Cried out for milk his mother made.
And one day cried in agony,
Then silent fell, on Calvary’s tree.
The one who Adam’s body formed
Would by the sun he made be warmed.
And then with broken body die,
As darkness covered Calvary’s sky.
The hands whose fingers fashioned stars
Would touch the sick and heal their scars.
Then nailed to wood, oh cruél sight,
They stilled in death on Calvary’s night.
So sing the great Immanuel’s praise
Our God with us, ’till end of days.
For Jesus once again took breath
And rose again, from Calvary’s death.
